In short
Steelbound has no accounts and no sign-up. We don't collect your name, email, phone number or contacts. Your progress stays on your device. The only data that leaves it is what Google's ad service needs to show ads.
What stays on your device
Your current stage, your lives, and when your next free life is due are saved inside the app on your device. They are never sent anywhere, and they are deleted when you delete the app.
Motion sensors
The game reads your phone's motion sensors to know how you're tilting it. That reading is used on the spot to move the ball and is never stored or sent anywhere.
Stages
Stages are downloaded from Apple's CloudKit service. This is a one-way download of game content: nothing about you or your play is uploaded, and you don't need to be signed in to iCloud.
Ads
Steelbound shows ads using Google AdMob. Ads are what keep the game free.
To show and measure ads, Google's software in the app collects:

Tracking and personalised ads
Unless you allow tracking, ads are not personalised using your advertising identifier — you still see ads, and the game works exactly the same. You can manage tracking at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Where the law requires it, you'll be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown.
Rewarded videos
You can choose to watch a short video for extra lives. It is always your choice — you can keep playing without it.
What we don't collect
Email address · phone number · home address · contacts · precise location · photos · recordings · health data · payment details.
There are no analytics tools in the app. The only third-party software is Google Mobile Ads.
Children
Steelbound is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting your data
Everything the game keeps is on your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it. We hold no data about you on any server.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change too. A significant change — such as collecting a new kind of data — will also be shown in the app.
